ABOUT RIBFEST

Get ready for sticky fingers, big smiles, and delicious fall-off-the-bone ribs Orangeville! On July 14, 15 and 16, the Rotary Club of Orangeville presents the 8th annual Orangeville Rotary Ribfest at the Alder Street Rec Centre.

Every July, the Orangeville Rotary Ribfest serves up thousands of mouth-watering ribs with six internationally acclaimed ribbers. Proceeds raised stay within the local Orangeville-Dufferin community to support exciting Rotary projects like the Fendley Park splashpad, the Rotary gazebo on the Island Lake Trail, the Rotary Way Bike Route, and the intergenerational program GrandPals. As always, admission is free throughout the weekend, however donations will be gratefully accepted. Look for the Ribfest pig at the entrance!

The annual Orangeville Rotary Ribfest has grown into one of the largest summer events in our community. The first Orangeville Ribfest was held in July 2010 with just over 9,600 attendees. Last year there were over 21,000 happy rib-eaters. In 2017 we will once again feature six internationally-acclaimed ribbers, the beer tent with beer, wine and coolers, and lots of other food and non-food vendors. The continuous live entertainment on the big stage throughout the weekend, will keep your toes tapping.

Ribfest is a family event with something for every age throughout the weekend. Music and entertainment will be non-stop all weekend. The midway will be running all three days and eleven bands will be performing on the big stage including The Johnny Lane Band and the Campfire Poets. The Ribfest Classic Car show will be back on Saturday from 3 to 8 p.m. And, as in past years, Rotary will again partner with Dufferin County Waste Management on waste diversion. Our best diversion rates away from landfill in the last few years have been 78% and 83%, and we're hoping to do even better in 2017! Our goal is to be the most environmentally friendly Ribfest yet.

And of course, putting on one of the largest summer events in our community would simply not be possible without the help of our wonderful Ribfest volunteers. Volunteers are needed to fill several positions: Ribfest greeters, cleaning & maintenance assistants, monitors for entrances/exits, and monitors for waste management stations. If you're interested in volunteering, please click on our Volunteers page for more info.

Looking forward to seeing you at Ribfest!
